London Business City Guide: London Transport
London's Underground runs 6am–midnight and is divided into six zones. A Zone 1 single, for one journey within central London, costs £2. A pack of ten costs £17. A one-day unlimited Travelcard for Zones 1–2 costs £6 (£4.70 after 9.30am) and can be used on the Underground, buses, rail routes in central London and the Docklands Light Railway.

A single bus journey costs £1.20. Tickets must be bought from machines at bus stops or in carnets (six for £6) at selected newsagents; you can no longer pay the conductor or driver on board. Various night buses operate through the early morning hours. Heathrow (LHR)

Heathrow Express

Heathrow Express trains stop at airport Underground stations. Surcharge for buying tickets on the train. Underground trains cost just £3.60, but the journey takes approx. 1 hr.

Gatwick (LGW)
